Potential New Marlies is a new feature that will run every few days until puck drop on October 10th, going through players within the Leafs organization, two at a time, that may be finding their way to Ricoh for the first time (well, on occasion, regular shifts for the first time, but mostly first at any point).

Jerry D’Amigo
Age: 19 (February 19th, 1991)
Hometown: Binghamton, New York, USA
Position: Right Wing
Handedness: Left
Height/Weight: 5’11, 196 lbs
How was he acquired?
D’Amigo was picked with the Leafs 2009 6th round pick, at 158th overall.
What kind of AHL experience does he have?
None to date. His next game will be his first.
What kind of other pro experience does he have?
Yet again, no experience in this regard either. However, he does have two years with the U.S. National Under-18 Development team, a Gold Medal from playing for the US at the 2010 World Juniors, and a year in the NCAA playing for R.P.I.
What are his chances of being on the Marlies next year?
This is a question that has a lot of people unsure at the moment. Though Brian Burke has stated that D’Amigo will either be a Leaf or a Marlie next year, there has been a lot of speculation that he’s saying this to make a last second transfer from the NCAA to the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers seem more ethical (such switches are frowned upon). If Burke is true to his word, then I’d say you could pretty much count on him being on the Marlies next year. If he’s not, then he’ll be in Kitchener.
What is his play style?
D’Amigo is an incredibly quick thinking, high talented player. His issue is in the rest of his game, of which there has been a bunch of criticism about it not being very complete. Also prone to making bad choices due to his rapid reaction. However, if he could round himself off, the sky is the limit.

Keith Aulie
Age: 21 (June 11th, 1989)
Hometown: Regina, Saskatchewan
Position: Defence
Handedness: Right
Height/Weight: 6’6, 208 lbs
How was he acquired?
Aulie was a component of the January 30th, 2010 blockbuster trade that sent him along with now-Leafs Captain Dion Phaneuf and Frederik Sjostrom to the Leafs for Matt Stajan, Ian White, Niklas Hagman, and Jamal Mayers.
What kind of AHL experience does he have?
Aulie was a rookie in the AHL last year, playing for the Abbotsford Heat for most of the season. He got in 5 games with the Marlies, but separated his shoulder chasing after a delayed icing and was hence out for the season.
What kind of other pro experience does he have?
None, actually. However, he had four years of Junior experience with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, and was on the 2009 Gold Medal winning Canadian World Junior team.
What are his chances of being on the Marlies next year?
Nearly a lock, barring him having an amazing camp and somehow sticking with the big club (with the logjam they have – that’s likely not going to happen). He’s definitely going to be on the top pair for the Marlies next year.
What is his play style?
Aulie is certainly a large fellow, and he uses his body to his best. Likes to throw it around and go for the hit. He has solid 2-way ability, but his positioning is a little suspect. Also slightly inconsistant.
