The Toronto Marlies announced their roster for AHL clear day yesterday. Few were surprised by the bulk of who was on and who was off, but the list did have some eyebrows raised.

For those who are out of the loop – Clear Day is where teams confirm their 22+injury man roster that they’ll be using in the playoffs to the American Hockey League. This is to prevent teams that exit the NHL playoffs earlier than expected from sending down higher caliber, waiver exempt players. It also lessens the chance of seeing bigger AHL names getting call ups.
